Announcement of JWF’s Association with
the United Nations Department of Global Communications  

November 22, 2019 – New York

The Journalists and Writers Foundation is proud to join the United Nations Department of Global Communications(UN DGC) as an accredited non-governmental organization (NGO), effective November 14, 2019. The JWF is dedicated to contributing to the United Nations to achieve sustainable peace and development worldwide. The DGC association will allow the JWF to disseminate information and raise public awareness about the goals and objectives of the United Nations. The JWF is eager to work in collaboration with the departments and agencies of the United Nations, including the UN Member States, the private sector, and the civil society organizations in achieving the sustainable development goals with 169 targets.

The JWF is a US-based international civil society organization dedicated to globally advancing the culture of peace, human rights, and sustainable development. The JWF promotes diversity and inclusion by creating forums for intellectual and social engagement; generates and shares knowledge with stakeholders, builds partnerships worldwide and develops policy recommendations for positive social change.

The JWF organizes programs and projects that aim to promote and implement the Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on peace building and conflict prevention, women’s empowerment and girls’ education, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, and the promotion and protection of human rights, the rule of law, and democracy embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and adopted by all UN Member States.
