REFLECTIONS ON PRESS FREEDOM
On Tuesday, 3 May 2022, the Journalists and Writers Foundation will host a virtual event to mark World Press Freedom Day 2022 with the theme of “Reflections on Press Freedom”. Moderated by South African journalist Yazeed Kamaldien, the event will host Isobel Koshiw, the Guardian’s correspondent in Kiev, JJ Green, National Security Correspondent at WTOP Radio, and Abdullah Bozkurt, Director of the Nordic Monitor. During the event, participants will hear the stories of journalists covering world affairs risking their lives and freedom to report on conflicts, inform people of press freedom violations, and remind governments of their commitment to ensure press freedom.
